On the 30th of April, Armenia joins the whole world in celebrating the International Jazz Day. It was first celebrated in 2012. UNESCO officially designated April 30 as International Jazz Day in 2011 in order to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of promoting peace and uniting people in all the corners of the globe. As many other cities, Yerevan also largely celebrates this special day: world-famous musicians are invited; various events and open-air concerts are organized in different corners of the city.
