Mher Mkrtchyan Memorial Museum is located on Rustaveli Street, which is a 20th century structure made of tuff. In the first half of the 20th century it was used as a residential house, after the Soviet revolution the building was nationalized. It was destroyed after the earthquake of 1988. Rustaveli Street was partially rebuilt. The museum was opened in 2004, while the official opening was in 2006. The museum display exhibits related to the life and career of the great actor.
