The Minas Avetisyan Museum was founded in 1982 in Jajur, the artist's native village. The 1988 earthquake destroyed the museum building. After restoration work, the museum was reopened in 2003, adding to it the collection of M. Avetisyan's Yerevan workshop. Today, in museum you could see not only Avetisan’s works but also works of his contemporaries. The artist's father's house, located not far from the museum, was also badly damaged by the earthquake. Now planned to restore the house and turn it into a creative center.
