The museum of the famous Armenian writer Perch Proshyan (1837-1907) was founded in 1948 in the town of Ashtarak – the writer’s birthplace. Later, three exhibition rooms were added to Proshyan’s house. Personal belongings of the writer are displayed in one of the rooms, while the other two rooms are used for exhibiting a rich collection of materials concerning his creative life.
There are more than 2000 documents kept in the museum that demonstrate the literary, pedagogical and public activities of the writer – novelist.
Most of the exhibits were donated to the museum by the writer’s relatives.
