The holiday of Saint Sargis is celebrated in Armenia not only with a religious ritual, but also with a number of traditions. Saint Sargis is the patron saint of the lovers. This holiday is also announced as the day of the youth blessing. On that day young people pray to the Saint and it is believed that the latter takes their prayers to the God. According to the tradition, young people eat salty patty in the evening of the eve of the holiday; they are also not supposed to drink water in order to see their future bride or bridegroom in a dream.
